GANDHI CHARITY

Nonprofit association, founded in Milan in 2003 by Dr. Alganesh Fessaha, whose projects are aimed at providing assistance to refugees and migrants and supporting abandoned children, adolescents, women facing serious hardships, and victims of violence in various African countries. Since 2008, the association has undertaken a series of activities in Egypt to free Eritrean migrants detained in prisons for illegal immigration, especially in the Sinai peninsula. In refugee camps in Ethiopia, the association is active in providing medical assistance to the sick and elderly, in running a mill that provides refugees with work and food, and in providing at least one meal per day to about 850 orphaned children living in the Mai Aini refugee camp. Since 2016, the association has been working with the Community of St. Egidio and Caritas Italy in the selection of vulnerable refugees for the Humanitarian Corridors program.
