MEDIATION : CULTURAL OR LINGUISTIC ?

An essential figure in the reception process: the mediator.

Although this is widely accepted, more than 20 years after this professional role first emerged in Italy, the mediator is still often limited to addressing purely linguistic difficulties in communication, without understanding his or her true and most critical function, and consequently, without enabling the professional to make the most of his or her skills.

Sesen, a mediator and interpreter, as well as the coordinator in charge of the mediators of Milan, has kindly agreed to talk to us about the topic, in part also because hers is a passion, not just a profession.

Listening to her, this becomes evident beyond all doubt.
