36 hours

 November 10,

 11h30 am, Nonantola.

Paolo Prandini's car - a Caritas operator in the role of driver-reporter for the occasion - is approaching the house in Welde.

Since arriving in Italy one year, 9 months and 11 days ago, Welde has been waiting to hug his wife, who has remained in Ethiopia.  The time has come, what follows is a short video story of the 30 hours that will lead up to him seeing his wife, Helen.

13h15 pm, in an unspecified point of the route from Nonantola to Rome.

The relationship between Paolo and Welde is clearly exhibited in the next videos.  Paolo is not the operator who brings the "beneficiary" to Rome because it is his job to do so, but the friend who accompanies his friend on one of the most important journeys of his life, so he understands perfectly why Welde, as they go down the  highway, asks him this favor .

08h30 pm, port of Fiumicino

Helen is expected to arrive at dawn tomorrow, but it will take hours before she get out, as she must get through customs clearance and anti-Covid procedures.  It is time to wait for these hours to pass and what better than a lavish dinner and a night...to remember.

11 November,

 10h45 am, Fiumicino beach

To pass this time and ease anxiety, what could be better than a dip in the sea ... in November?  But when it's your first time in your life, then it's all worth it, whatever the season.

PS. we wonder if Paolo did it too, unfortunately there are no videos to confirm nor deny this.

Right at that moment, the video call HL arrives: Max consumed with envy - because if he didn't live in the red zone, would have to be there in a bathing suit - decides to call them to capture their emotions on live.

02h45 pm, outside Fiumicino airport, inside Paolo's car

We want to say one more thing: we admire Welde and Paolo, because in a moment so full of so many irrepressible and indescribable emotions, they also managed to find the desire to "joke around" to the point of playing a prank on Helen, making her believe that Welde was not there with Paolo but waiting at home (only she almost faints).

We send our love to Helen and Welde, whom we hope to meet in person as soon as possible, and we thank Paolo who has allowed us to experience this emotional journey with them.

 10h39 pm, message from Paolo

"We arrived at 9.15 pm, but I didn't film the arrival in Nonantola because I was exhausted.. the rest will be documented by you on the next trip here, see you soon!"
